The proposal would provide $40 million over 2 years to increase the Basic Boarding Allowance paid under the Assistance for Isolated Children Scheme. This would help parents and carers with the costs of sending children to boarding school when there is no school close to their home.

The proposal would be non-ongoing, distribute funding evenly over 2 years and start on 1 July 2025.
