The proposal would provide $5 million in funding to partner with Good to Great Schools Australia to strengthen the teacher workforce in regional and remote areas. This would help build the capacity of teaching assistants and teachers in regional and remote Australia, and explore the development of new qualifications to upskill teaching assistants.

The proposal would be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.

The funding profile for the grant would be $1.0 million in 2025-26, $1.5 million in 2026-27, $2.0 million in 2027-28, and $0.5 million in 2028-29.

The proposal would be non-ongoing and start on 1 July 2025.
