The proposal would provide $32 million over 4 years to help break the stigma around men’s mental health, including a new campaign encouraging men to stop avoiding health check-ups. The funding would also support training for over 60,000 GPs and nurses through the work of Movember. 

The proposal would be non-ongoing, distribute funding evenly over 4 years, and start on 1 July 2025.

The proposal would provide $270,000 over 2 years to progress research into Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease (CJD), with the CJD Support Group Network leading the research.

The funding would be distributed as $175,000 in 2027-28 and $95,000 in 2028-29.
