The proposal would restore the 80:20 federal funding model for all new nationally significant road projects in regional and remote areas ensuring more regional roads and highways are upgraded. The current cost-sharing arrangement is on a 50:50 basis.

The proposal would accelerate the delivery of high-speed rail by investing in the High Speed Rail Authority (HSRA) to complete the network from Brisbane to Melbourne by 2040.
The proposal would start from 1 July 2026.

The proposal would deliver 50 cent public transport fares for all services and maintain existing free services, by providing funding to state and territory governments for the lost ticket revenue.
A one-off fund of $250 million would also be made available to states and territories to assist them to transition to ‘smart ticketing’. This would allow people to pay for public transport using their credit card or debit card, or their phone.
The policy would be ongoing and start on 1 July 2025.

This would include investment in the aviation industry by acquiring a 51% controlling share of Brisbane Airport Corporation and taking a stake in slot management.
The proposal would be non-ongoing, distribute funding evenly over 4 years and include departmental expenses within the cap.
The proposal would start from 1 July 2026.
