Establish a Land and Sea Country Commissioner
The proposal would establish a Land and Sea Commissioner to be an independent First Nations voice to guide the protection and management of Australia’s environment and its interlinked Indigenous cultural heritage values.

The proposal would introduce a levy equal to $20 per tonne of municipal waste sent to operational incinerators.
In addition, the proposal would ban construction of new waste incineration facilities and prohibiting the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) from funding waste to energy projects.
The proposal would be ongoing and start on 1 July 2026.
