Report release: Independent post-election review of the Parliamentary Budget Office 2025-26

The Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit (JCPAA) has released the Independent post‑election review of the Parliamentary Budget Office 2025-26.

This review was conducted by Dr Martin Parkinson AC PSM on behalf of the Committee. 

We welcome the review as an opportunity to identify ways to improve the work of the PBO. Also, as a check on our services and on meeting our legislative requirements. We understand that even high performing institutions have opportunities to improve and we will look for ways to enhance those services and products.

We will now work through the 23 individual recommendations to consider how we will respond to them before providing a formal response to the JCPAA.
