The proposal would provide $50 million to transition the industrial fish farming industry to land-based operations, starting with an immediate exit from Macquarie Harbour.

The transition plan would include marine environmental remediation, independent monitoring of salmon farms’ compliance with animal cruelty and environmental standards, and a jobs transition package for Macquarie Harbour fish farm workers.
