The proposal would provide $40 million over 3 years in matched grants to establish a new Timber Manufacturing Expansion Program and increase timber production capacity in Australia. To be eligible, timber mills must utilise wood from their own state or territory and, as a result, create more jobs in regional communities.

The proposal would be non-ongoing and start from 1 July 2025.
