The proposal would provide $53 million over 2 years to achieve greater accountability in media diversity by establishing a Royal Commission into the Murdoch media monopoly and its influence on democracy.

The proposal would be non-ongoing, distribute funding evenly over 2 years and start on 1 July 2026.
