The proposal would provide $340 million over 5 years to establish the Zero Emissions Communities program and fund 17 'Zero Emissions Communities' across the country's distribution network areas. This program would drive innovation and build social licence for the clean energy transition through supporting intensive electrification projects in targeted communities.

This proposal would be non-ongoing, distribute funding evenly over 5 years, include departmental costs within the cap and start on 1 July 2026.
