The proposal would provide $355 million over 4 years to establish a National Drug Enforcement and Organised Crime Strike Team to help law enforcement agencies deal with illicit drugs at a national level. Dedicated Australian Federal Police (AFP) teams would be setup in each state and territory led by a national leadership group and supported by specialist financial investigative and prosecutorial teams.

The proposal would distribute funding with $86.1 million in 2025-26, $88.3 million in 2026-27, $89.7 million in 2027-28 and $91.3 million in 2028-29.

The proposal would be non-ongoing and start on 1 July 2025.
