The proposal would provide $70 million in additional annual funding for the Australian Research Council’s Future Fellowships scheme, to strengthen Australia’s research capacity.

The proposal would be indexed in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and include departmental funding from within the capped amount.

The proposal would be ongoing and start from 1 July 2026.
