The proposal would provide $8 million over 4 years to increase investment in environmental surveillance to detect and prevent invasive species.

The proposal would be non-ongoing, distribute funds evenly over 4 years and include departmental funding from within the capped amount.

The proposal would start on 1 July 2026.
