The proposal would provide $20 million over 2 years to legislate an end to forced sterilisation practices in Australia and to provide an education campaign and strengthened enforcement put in place to protect disabled people’s reproductive rights.

The proposal would be non-ongoing, distribute funding evenly over 2 years and start on 1 July 2026.
