The proposal would provide $2 million annually ($20 million over 10 years) to establish Environmental Health Australia as an independent body to coordinate biosecurity response, preparedness, and engagement.

The proposal would be ongoing, not be indexed, include departmental funding from within the capped amount and start on 1 July 2026.
