The proposal would provide $5 billion over 5 years to support the National Battery Strategy to support manufacturing incentives, support for recycling and other forms of industry support.

The proposal would be non-ongoing, distribute funding evenly over 5 years of the proposal and include departmental funding from within the capped amount.

The proposal would start from 1 July 2026.
