The proposal would provide $5 million over 4 years through grants to deliver infrastructure and technology that helps businesses measure and record food waste.

The proposal would be non-ongoing, distribute funding evenly over 4 years and include departmental funding from within the capped amount.

The proposal would start from 1 July 2026.
