The proposal would provide $250 million over 5 years to local councils to accelerate the rollout of Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) bins for households nationwide.

The proposal would be non-ongoing, not be indexed, distribute funding evenly over 5 years and include departmental expenses from within the capped amount.

The proposal would start from 1 July 2026.
