Justice – rebalancing the justice system – $1 million for the National Deaths in Custody Program
The proposal would provide $1 million per year for 4 years to the Australian Institute of Criminology to expand the National Deaths in Custody program. This would be to ensure real-time data collection, including police shootings, and publishing this data on a national dashboard.
The proposal would be non-ongoing and start from 1 July 2026.
