Supporting equitable ongoing employment for researchers – Improve STEM education through teacher training
The proposal would provide $41.7 million annually on an ongoing basis (more than $425 million over the medium term) to improve STEM education by enhancing teacher training, creating a national database of professional development courses and funding relief cover for teachers while they undertake training.
The proposal would start from 1 July 2026 and be indexed by the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
