The proposal would establish a taskforce to work with states and territories to improve the national construction code for newly built homes and apartments. The objectives will be to make rooftop solar a standard feature of all new housing delivered in Australia, no new gas connections (all-electric appliances), all electric appliances and improve energy efficiency standards.

The proposal would terminate the New Homes Bonus measure, effective from 1 July 2025.

The proposal would provide $2.8 million in 2025-26 to Survivor’s R Us in Cardiff to support the future of the service and ensure it has a permanent home. Survivor’s R Us is a not-for-profit organisation that provides essential supports for victims and survivors of domestic violence, homelessness and unemployment. The funding will assist them to secure finance to purchase a permanent site. 

The proposal would be non-ongoing and start on 1 July 2025.
