The proposal would establish a taskforce to work with states and territories to improve the national construction code for newly built homes and apartments. The objectives will be to make rooftop solar a standard feature of all new housing delivered in Australia, no new gas connections (all-electric appliances), all electric appliances and improve energy efficiency standards.

• $1 billion in 2026-27 to support countries and communities affected by climate crises
• $4 billion annually from 2027-28 to 2030-31 to strengthen global climate action by increasing climate finance.
